Shonda Foublasse, LMFT

Hi, I’m Shonda!

I am an adventurous, loyal, nurturing, and strong visionary who’s full of joy, faith and hope. Oh! And I love to travel! I was raised by a father who is intelligent, strategic, and goal-oriented and a mother who is kind, supportive, and the epitome of “a ray of sunshine.” I’d like to think that I am the best of them put together. However, like many people, some of my parents’ struggles also became my own and I’ve had to work hard to unlearn some of those things. By no means do I have it all together, but I’m so grateful that each day I have the opportunity to put my best foot forward, to walk in freedom.

Professionally, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee, Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, Certified Master Life Coach, and self-proclaimed Joy Expert. I hold a Bachelors in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I also hold a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy with a Specialization in Child and Adolescent Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. With 15 years of experience, I have worked with adolescents through mobile crisis and residential treatment programs, adults and teenagers in substance abuse treatment programs, college students in study abroad programs, and individuals, couples, and families in community mental health agencies and private practice.

Why am I a therapist? I absolutely love journeying with people and celebrating all of their progress along the way! I am passionate about empowering them to thrive in a world full of survivors. I firmly believe that when we intentionally work toward our own healing, restoration, and wholeness, we inherently give permission for others to do the same. And how amazing is that?!
